About me
As the Global Director of Cybersecurity Startups at Microsoft, Kevin leads the worldwide cybersecurity strategy, programs, and portfolio for Microsoft for Startups. Formerly the Chief Security Officer at Microsoft Canada, he is a recognized authority on emerging trends in cybersecurity innovation, entrepreneurship, and cyber risk governance. Kevin regularly contributes to curriculum development and lectures at Canadian colleges and universities on these topics. He holds the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has extensive experience advising and serving on boards including current appointments as Trustee and Senator at Brock University and as Governor at the University of Prince Edward Island. Deeply committed to the development and creation of cybersecurity leadership and technical educational opportunities for aspiring security professionals, Kevin serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Rogers Cybersecurity Catalyst - Toronto Metropolitan University and holds advisory roles at the University of Guelph’s Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence program, George Brown College’s Cyber Security Program Advisory Council, and the Royal Canadian Military Institute. His previous roles include Entrepreneur in Residence at Laurier University and advisor for Communitech and MaRS.
