I, Jiaqi (Andy) Liu, am a grade 11 student at Halifax Grammar School. I began coding when I was nine years old and have since gained proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python. Additionally, I am skilled in web development technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, DOM, and JSON. My passion for coding has also led me to participate in competitive programming events, such as the USACO, where I achieved placement in the highest division, Platinum.
In grade 10, I was introduced to cybersecurity through the CyberPatriot (CyberTitan) competition. This competition allowed me to learn different aspects of cybersecurity such as Cisco and different operating systems like Ubuntu and Windows. Over the past two years, my brother and I have led the team and made significant progress, advancing to the Gold division last year and the Platinum division this year. Beyond these competitions, I have self-learned computer vision, natural language processing, audio processing, machine learning, and data science analysis techniques in coding. Utilising this knowledge, I have made small projects: the first one uses neural networks and OpenCV to detect emotions and plays a piece of music along that matches with the detected emotion and the second one related to cybersecurity, focusing on file encryption and decryption to enhance data protection.
